New Debate Club Spring Session
We have added more sessions of Debate Club from May 16- June 13. Debate Club is a great way to hone in on public speaking, debate, and research skills. It also serves as a fundraiser to help us continue our mission of making debate accessible to all. Register here.
Junior Speakers Program
We are excited to expand our debate club and summer institute program to elementary students in grades 3 and above. Students will learn the art of rhetoric while engaging in fun speaking drills and sparring against one another over pressing topics. Register here.
Free Programs for Coaches and Students from Member Schools
Debate is all about ideas, policies, and how they affect real people. Join us as we take a deep dive into some of these concepts.
High Schoolers will be reading The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander. HS Book Club meets on Thursdays from 4-5:30 pm with Aubrey Semple starting April 30. Participants will be selected from those who register at: NYCUDL HS Debate Book Club.
Middle schoolers will be reading Barbara Ehrenreich’s Nickel and Dimed. MS Book Club meets on Wednesdays from 4-5:30 with Loretta Brady starting April 29th. Participants will be selected from those who register at: NYCUDL MS Debate Book Club.
Coaches, please join our Programming Director, Aubrey Semple, for weekly outreach and Q&A on all things debate. Open to all coaches who serve our 2019-2020 member schools.
