<p> </p><!–more–><p>Thank you everyone for making the NYC Middle School Debate Tournament #1 an incredible success! 28 schools. 245 students. 133 judges, parents, coaches and guests. 103 debate teams. 2 different locations across two different boroughs. 3 different debate events (parliamentary debate, public forum debate, Big Questions Debate. 5 divisions of debate. 5 different debate topics: North/South Korea, Animals, Sports, Immigration, and Hate Speech. Wow! Thank you to Tournament directors and hosts Tyler Beattie, James Shapiro, NYCUDL Staff Aubrey Semple, Courtney Danielle Kaufman, Jessica Mcintosh, Neonne Ameer, Amoy Fraser, Josue Jehieli Bastidas, Jacob Kaye, Andrew Dale White Geathers, Sorangel Liriano, Tiara Moultrie, Celines Berroa, Yaira Brito, Todd Beattie, Lenny Herrera, Calen McGee, Ps 161 Pedro Albizu Campos Debate Team, The Berkeley Carroll School Debate Team, over 100 judges, parents, and volunteers who made everything possible. And most importantly to the hundreds of students who devoted their Saturday to debate.
