Manhattan High School Summer Debate Institute Tournament Results
<p>Thank you to the Silberman Graduate School of Social Work which hosts one of our most rigorous debate programs for high school students with a state of the art, brand new college facility, library and multiple computer labs. <span style=background-color: transparent;”>On Friday we had our Camp Tournament which featured three rounds of debate on the public forum and policy debate topics. Public Forum Debate featured the upcoming national topic on North and South Korea public policy which will be the national debate topic for the months of September and October. And policy debate featured the 2017-2018 debate resolution on education reform. </span></p><!–more–><p> </p><p>Our debate topics for the Manhattan Summer Debate Institute for High School Students: </p><p> </p><p><strong>High School Policy Debate Resolution: </strong><strong style=”background-color: transparent;”>Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its funding and/or regulation of elementary and/or secondary education in the United States.</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>High School Public Forum Debate Resolutions:</strong> <strong style=”background-color: transparent;”>OPTION 1 – Resolved: Continued nuclear weapon development and missile testing are in North Korea’s best interest. </strong><strong style=”background-color: transparent;”>OPTION 2 – Resolved: Deployment of anti-missile systems is in South Korea’s best interest.</strong></p><p> </p><p>Thank you again to all our participants
