This year, debaters at our Summer Debate Institute worked on the topic “Resolved: The benefits of public subsidies for sports stadiums outweigh the harms.” In order to contextualize the resolution, both camp sessions took a trip to a Staten Island FerryHawks baseball game. Students spent the day building background knowledge on sports stadiums and connecting the experience to their arguments (while also cheering on the FerryHawks!)
