NYC Debaters Win Big at the NYC Invitational at Bronx Science!

Huge shout outs to NYCUDL debaters and schools and the Travel Team for winning big this weekend during three days of intense debates. Bronx Science hosts the NYC Invitational each year – one of the largest, most prestigious and one of the most expensive tournaments in the world. Usually dominated by some of the nation’s top private schools – this year, NYC students and schools dominated the tournament. NYCUDL students and schools won more awards than any other program in Public Forum Debate!! Many winners were also in our middle school debate program! And a huge shout out to the entire UDL Team – alumni, coaches, Board Members, schools, staff, volunteers – all working together to provide our students with the best debate education opportunities. And finally a huge shout out to all our Great Debaters for challenging one of the top tournaments in the nation. Congratulations everyone!
<!–more–>

POLICY DEBATE TOP TEAMS

Semifinalists: Ravenell & Wolfe (Brooklyn Tech)

Sextodec: Ronning & Santora (Brooklyn Tech)

<strong style=background-color: transparent;”>
POLICY DEBATE TOP SPEAKERS

7th Place: Hannah Ravenell (Brooklyn Tech)

14th Place: Solenne Wolfe (Brooklyn Tech)

<span style=”background-color: transparent;”>31st Place: Jeremy Santora (Brooklyn Tech)

<span style=”background-color: transparent;”>55th Place: Stephen Wilson (Brooklyn Tech)

PUBLIC FORUM DEBATE TOP TEAMS

<span style=”background-color: transparent;”>Sextos: <span style=”background-color: transparent;”>Karri & Bovenzi (Hunter High School)<span style=”background-color: transparent;”>
Octofinalists: <span style=”background-color: transparent;”>Roz & Tawil (Hunter High School).<span style=”background-color: transparent;”>
2nd Place Overall: <span style=”background-color: transparent;”>Fernandez & Kaye (Poly Prep). <span style=”background-color: transparent;”>Runoff: <span style=”background-color: transparent;”>Ahn & Li (Hunter High School)<strong style=”background-color: transparent;”>

Runoff: Mehta & Zhao (Westfield)

PUBLIC FORUM DEBATE TOP SPEAKERS

<span style=”background-color: transparent;”>Matthew Xing (Hunter High School): 11th Top Speaker<span style=”background-color: transparent;”>
Julio Cordero (Law
