High School Tournament #4 – The Coolidge Cup Qualifier!
<p> </p><!–more–><p><span>Thank you to the New School and IN-Tech Academy for hosting High School Tournament #4 on January 12th!! Thank you to the Calvin Coolidge Foundation for sponsoring the Tournament! And….. New York City’s first debate tournament of 2019!!!!!! And what a tournament! 42 high schools! 291 high school students! 146 judges and volunteers! 2 locations! 2 boroughs! And two different topics. The Policy Debate Resolution was the timely resolution of Immigration Reform: </span><strong>Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially reduce its restrictions on legal immigration to the United States. </strong><span>The Public Forum Debate Resolution was: </span><strong>Resolved: The United States federal government should prioritize reducing the federal debt over promoting economic growth. </strong> We are so thankful to the Calvin Coolidge for making everything possible this year and the past several years. And also a huge shout out to the Calvin Coolidge Foundation for not only sponsoring the tournament but generously providing scholarships to the top twelve debaters of the Tournament for a one week debate camp (travel, housing, meals, tuition all covered) to compete at the Coolidge Cup” in Vermont <span>on July 4th - </span><span>A total of $10
