Welcome to the League, District 6!
Today we hosted the first-ever District 6 debate tournament welcoming 100+ elementary and middle school debaters to the NYCUDL office.
Students competed across divisions, including Spanish-language debates at every grade level. This new District 6 partnership is made possible through the support of West Harlem Development Corporation whose investment is helping expand debate opportunities for students in these communities.
To celebrate their debut (and the holiday!), we added a little St. Patrick’s Day spirit, complete with green bagels and a shamrock shake station helmed by NYCUDL CEO Amisha Mody Mehta. It was a joyful start to what we know will be a long and exciting debate journey for these students.
