Our Cross-District Championship tournaments brought together top debaters from Districts 7, 8, 9, 13, 15, and 16 for a series of citywide competitions. Throughout the regular season, students compete within their own districts—but at Cross-Districts, select debaters come together to represent their communities in front of practicing attorneys at some of the city’s leading law firms. These events are designed not only to celebrate competitive excellence, but to help students see themselves in professional spaces and imagine new possibilities for their futures.

This year marked the first time we hosted separate Middle School Novice and Varsity championships, expanding opportunities for students at different experience levels. We are deeply grateful to Milbank, Morgan Lewis, and White & Case for hosting this year’s tournaments, and to the many attorneys and volunteers who judged rounds and supported students throughout the day. Special thanks to Gurbir Grewal, Kelsey Rustigian, and Patrick Donnelly (Milbank), Ari Selman, Annamaria Santamaria, and Elliot Abreu (Morgan Lewis), and Charu Chitwan and Hannelore Sklar (White & Case).

Congratulations to this year’s champions: JHS 22 in District 9 (Middle School Varsity), MS 337 in District 8 (Middle School Novice), and PS 9 in District 13 (Elementary School).
