On Saturday, October 24, we hosted our 5th annual Falling For Debate workshop at Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School (WHEELS)!
Designed to mirror a real tournament day, Falling For Debate helps students build the skills and confidence they need for their first debate tournament in a supportive, low-pressure setting. Through interactive labs tailored to their experience level, students explored the resolution “Resolved: NYC should eliminate caps on street vendor licenses,” working on contention writing, rebuttals, and practice rounds.
But the day was not all about debate! Students also celebrated the season with pumpkin decorating, Cider Chat, and Goal Leaves, meeting peers from other schools and, most importantly, having fun! 🍂🎃
