NYCUDL welcomed 57 elementary and middle school coaches to our Cross District Kickoff.
New coaches started with Debate 101, while returning coaches explored debate games designed to keep students engaged. Together, they practiced contention writing, a skill that builds critical thinking and structured writing under time pressure, followed by sessions on rebuttal basics and question-and-answer so students always have something to say. The day ended with an elementary-style practice debate and one-on-one support for technology and logistics.
